Wascomat Gen6 washers

This installation note covers the old Gen6 washers. These washers use mechanical timers. The reader therefore uses a high voltage relay to control this timer. The reader is powered by a separate AC-DC power supply adapter (provided with the order)

Parts

  • Reader
  • Solid State Relay
  • Cable harness
  • 12V Power supply adapter

Installation

  1. Before proceeding, you should assign numbers to each of the machines in the laundry room.

  2. Set the machine type and number using the DIP switch on the reader's circuit board:
See DIP switch settings page to understand how to configure DIP switch positions to set the machine type (washer or dryer) and number.

  3. Turn machine power OFF!

  4. Remove the coin drop if present

  5. The solid state relay's output wires should be connected to pins 5 and 6 on connector X21 on the machine's control board. There should be an existing wire harness connecting X21 to an empty connector X121. Simply splice the relay's output wires to these two wires. This is shown below:

  6. Connect the AC side of the supplied power adapter to the machine. Unless you have an outlet directly behind the machine, you will need to cut-off the AC prong and expose the Hot and Neutral wires, which you will need to connect to the Hot and Neutral inside the machine.
  7. Mount the reader to where the coin-drop would normally go
