This installation note covers A-series Dexter machine. This machine does not have a serial communication interface; our reader just emulates the coin-drop.

The “Busy signal” and “Ground” are only applicable to the Washer. They are not applicable to dryers. Shown in the middle is an example of a crimp which is used to crimp the “Busy Signal” wire (washer only) and the “Power supply” wire.

3. Power supply

1. Before proceeding, you should assign numbers to each of the machines in the laundry room/building. It is highly recommended that you place number labels on each washer and dryer machine.
2. Set the machine type and number using the DIP switch on the reader circuit board:
   See DIP switch settings page to understand how to configure DIP switch positions to set the machine type (washer or dryer) and number.
3. Turn machine power OFF!
4. Open machine hood
5. Remove coin-box or other card reader
6. Connect “Coin-drop” connector to P2 header on the dexter control board. See photo below.
7. Connect “Ground” wire connector to any of P23,P24,P25 headers on the Dexter control board (Washer only). See photo below.
8. Splice the “Busy signal” wire to the orange wire on connector P4,pin6 on the Dexter control board. See photo below.
   

Connect the “Power supply” connector to the power supply provided by Mitech, and connect the AC-side of the power supply to the terminal block inside the machine to get 120VAC power.

On the machine, set the dollar value of a single pulse to be the base cycle price (e.g $5.00).
On the LaundroPortal, set the desired prices for the base cycle and the Super cycle.
