Dexter Coin-op Dryers

This note covers reader installations on older Dexter coin-op dryers. The reader uses pulse control. Only one reader per stack is required.

Installation

  1. Before proceeding, you should assign numbers to each of the machines in the laundry room/building. It is highly recommended that you place number labels on each washer and dryer machine.

  2. Set the machine type and number using the DIP switch on the MCU circuit board:
    See DIP switch settings page to understand how to configure DIP switch positions to set the machine type (washer or dryer) and number. Note that MCUs may already come from Mitech configured with the appropriate DIP switch settings. Proceed with installing the MCU on the corresponding machine type and number.

  3. Turn machine power OFF!

  4. Open the service compartment or lid

  5. Remove the coin drop if present

  6. Connect the reader-side of the cable harness to the reader
  7. Connect the 2-wire signal connector to header P2 on the machine's control. Connect the 2-wire power connector to the external power supply.


  8. Splice the 120VAC side of the power supply to the into the AC wires from P3
  9. Proceed to secure the reader to the machine using the provided nuts
